Radioactive Waste and the Ottawa River - Your Questions Answered: Online Townhall

Ottawa City Councillors Theresa Kavanagh and Catherine McKenney have tabled a motion at Council opposing radioactive waste dumps at Chalk River next to the Ottawa River, our primary source of drinking water. The motion will be debated at the Environment Committee meeting on March 30th, 2021. Who is in charge of these plans? How much radioactive waste will go into the dump? What are the implications for communities all along the Ottawa River? Why have so many municipalities passed motions opposing these plans? What can you do?

The Ottawa Chapter held an online "Town Hall" on February 18 at 7pm.
